Excellent progress continues with the painting and decorating of the worship area.
I have had a chance to have a quick look inside, and it’s looking really good! The next phase will take a little longer with some areas needing more detailed decorating. This includes the staining of the galley woodwork and front door, as well as the skirting boards. Once again, a gentle reminder from Kevin that the church remains out of bounds until the project is complete. If you need need to access the building for whatever reason, please contact Kevin or myself.
Elders met last week to talk about a provisional timetable for how and when the Church might be able to reopen for worship. Since we met, we have all been made aware of the situation that the spread of the virus has been on the increase, and some of the easing of restrictions have been delayed. We will therefore need to keep a close eye on developments.
What we are able to do upon completion of the painting and decorating project, is run through the Risk Assessment and conduct interviews for a church cleaner. The church will then be cleaned and sanitised. Depending on the guidance in place over the coming weeks, we will then prepare the church building for a trial service to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and patience - we know it has been a very long time since we have all been able to gather for worship in our Church. In the meantime we know you are appreciating both the regular devotions and online services which will continue being produced.
Thank you to everyone who sent in baking photos, and to Janine for compiling our “Food, glorious food” video. Thank you to Sheelagh for doing the reading for tomorrow’s service.
Over the month of August wherever you may be out and about, closer to home or further afield please take a scenic photo of something that you have admired.
Send your photos to Gerald whenever it’s convenient for you.
