I have been attending Emmanuel since 1980 and served as an EIder and Church Secretary for many years. I am a member of the Thursday Lunch Club team and also lead Tuesday Group (a ladies group).
KATHRYN WALKER
Elder
I was born in Swindon and I have lived in Haydon Wick area since I was 2! Over 42 of those with my husband Philip.
I am retired, enjoy a variety of craft hobbies and enjoy local days out.
Holidays often include National Trust visits as we travel the country.
My faith is core to my very being and I worked for 35 years at Bible Society
where I was involved with many aspects of making the bible accessible at
home and across the world.
RACHEL PARMENTER
Elder
I am married to Richard who is on the maintenance team at Emmanuel. My hobbies are gardening, baking, various crafts, the countryside and going out with friends.
I prefer mostly to be working in the background so I run the Emmanuel Prayer Group which is a way of praying for people who are struggling with ill health or having other problems in their lives. I send emails to everyone in the group so they too can pray for them. I try to keep in touch their progress and be a listening ear if they need someone to talk to.
I am in my 6th and last year as an Elder and it has been a very interesting, sometimes challenging experience.
BEN GOUGH
Elder
I've been at Emmanuel since I was a teenager, and over the years have found a lot of support by being part of the church in Haydon Wick.
I have also been working for an electricity company as a linesman for a similar number of years. I am married, and have two children growing up fast, who are also part of the church.
I really enjoy my paddle sports including kayaking, canoeing and more recently stand-up paddle boarding. For several years now I have been involved in Sea Scouts, where I teach kayaking and canoeing.
PHILIP WALKER

I’ve been part of Emmanuel for over 20 years, where I have been active in a few roles and still enjoy being part of the Thursday Lunch Club team.
